About Counter Fate

Counter Fate is a comic that follows Aileen Mae,
a late blooming mage.In the world of Undaterra, magic is seen as a common practice, a way to connect to others and nature. Aileen, however, had gotten used to a life without magic. Her mom had left her family at a young age, and the bullies at school used that as ammunition.When Aileen's peace is shaken and she loses her job at her beloved bookstore, her emotions overwhelm her into a shock. In a split second, her life is turned around, and she's been enrolled into Hawthorne Academy for the Magically Gifted. With thousands of expecting eyes on her, and a drive to find her mother, Aileen now has to learn and master the magic that tore her life apart in the first place.

Aileen Mae

Aileen spent most of her life without magic, friends, or a mother. Being thrown into the magical world as this generation's Emotion Caster means that now she spends every waking hour studying magic in an effort to not fall behind and fulfill her so-called "destiny."

Achilles Alrun

Mage Type: Dark Mage
DOB: January 11
Height: 5'9"
Personality: Stubborn, Pensive
Achilles's mother completely changed after his father passed away. Since then, Achilles does his best to stay in the number one rank in school, sacrificing any semblance of a social life. When the headmistress requires he open his heart and help a new student, he hesitates but eventually accepts this challenge. Teaching a mage from scratch? It can't be too hard.

Fei Morgenstern

Mage Type: Grim Reaper / Dark Mage
DOB: September 27
Height: 5'2"
Personality: Mature, Content
Fei received the Grim Reaper power from her late grandmother, a responsibility she couldn't refuse. However, because of the lack of knowledge on this mage-type, her image completely changes socially. Her parents call her a space-case, and her peers fear her, leaving her alone. She learned to be content with this life... at least until a purple-haired mage desperately ran to her asking about the "dark magic" that Fei was rumored to practice.

Heron Kestrel

Mage Type: Traditional Mage
DOB: April 14
Height: 6'2"
Personality: Quiet, Responsible
Heron became an orphan when he and his family were part of a major accident. He's plagued by survivor's guilt, although he doesn't really understand how he survived. Ever since then, though, animals follow him around, keeping a watchful eye. The headmistress took him in as a student, and his peers adore him and his thoughtful nature. Because of this, he's been voted as class president during the entire time he's been attending Hawthorn.

Magnolia Noctis

Mage Type: Traditional Mage
DOB: August 17
Height: 5'11"
Personality: Independent, Hard-Working
Magnolia is the most popular girl in school, known for her beauty and her status. Her father is a well-off business man who only supplies her with the basics, and her mother has always been mysteriously ill. Despite having a terrible relationship with her father, her peers believe she's intimidating and "too good" for them. Coming to Hawthorn, she had a single-room paid for, which isolated her even more. When Aileen suddenly moves in, Mags is excited with the prospect of having a new friend, and study buddy.

Eidon Whitetip

Mage Type: Traditional Mage
DOB: July 14
Height: 5'7"
Personality: Outgoing, Empathetic
Eidon takes after his father, who his mother divorced when he was young. Now he has two mothers, and an adopted little sister that he tries to inspire. While he's not a Dark Mage, many of his peers still showed fear of him because of his shark-like features. He tries his best to over-compensate by being an absolute yes-man to anything. The only time he gets to be himself is when he's around Achilles, his self-assigned best friend since grade-school.
